Culture Shock!!!

Back to Dubai last nite, and can't wait to log on to internet. Maybe have been deprived from it for the couple of days, since the place I stayed over in Bahrain do not have a decent wireless for me to use. Think I am addicted to internet liow... but who's not? Young people around me basically can't live a day without surfing the net, so at least I am not alone:)

The period in Saudi, always get to learn more things about their culture... for example, you won't see any female driver in this part of Saudi, though not sure if it applicable other parts. Because woman is NOT allow to drive at all AND they are not even allow to leave the house to travel by themselves, without the coy of their hubby. To top it up, the ladies here is NOT even allow entry of any males into their house if the hubby is not at home, and males species including her father and siblings or in-laws. Sounds like the guys here are pretty possessive and never seems to trust other guys at all, not even their own brothers.

Anyway... went over to Bahrain on Thursday, via their famous & highly profitable causeway, the link between Saudi & Bahrain. To the Saudi men, this is the bridge to their "heaven". As most may know, liquor and social escort is against the law in KSA, so what these Saudi did is simply cross over to the other side of the bridge and have a great "workout" over their weekend in Bahrain. And apparently, this is very much a norm. So whenever, we see Saudi registered cars loaded with only guys traveling in Bahrain, you know what they are here for:)

Sand dust in Saudi makes the driving a bit more difficult cos visibiltyis very low,
reminds me of haze in Sg, except the psi unit must be damn sky high

I was also told by some locals in Bahrain, the Saudi men usually would leave their spouses back in Saudi, and they themselves womanizing & enjoying the hell of their time over in Bahrain, thinking that their wife would be ignorance enough and obedient to stay back at home to take care of the house. However, interestingly, "rumors" claims that these women whom stay back in Saudi, would also be enjoying themselves, having an affair of their own, with their servant, family drivers. Not sure how true such things but hahaha... its like "an eye for an eye":)
Cars jamming up the causeway... loos familiar???
Crossing the causeway reminds me of the one between Singapore & Malaysia, full of cars jammed up the entire place, except that the stupid & arrogant attitude of these customs officers taking their own sweet time to clear the documents, or at time chat on the phone and leaving us waiting. At least, the bloody chap that holds on to my passport, did that to me. Only clear me through until he put down his mobile. For info, the bloody temp out there is like 37 deg, and he is enjoying himself in the air con office. So you can imagine the frustration towards these crappy fellows, but yet can’t do anything to them. SHIT place here with some really shitty attitude!!!

Freaking 37deg, and no sign of dropping
