As most would consider golf, by far is one of the costly sports people play. Imagine having to pay some country club membership, then the golf set dun come cheap either. The cost to get a license and course is not cheap as well, though there are signs that the sports is extending to the heartlander and so the cost had becomes slightly affordable. The same could not be said for soccer. To play a game of footie, isn't too expensive. Just find an open field (so what is bumpy), have a size 5 bola, and if you really want, invest in some nice boots, get a few kakis and alas... u can play footie liow. So by comparison, footie is cheaper to golf in that sense.
However, to watch between the two sports... it appears to be opposite. To watch a golf tournament, isn't that expensive at all. I mean either you watch it by the green (live) or via the TV, it seem to be easily available, not sure why though. But for footie, it seems otherwise. The routine price hike just to watch via the service provider seems to be killing the fans. I dare say that this is the most popular sports in my country, so there will be lots of fans for various teams, especially in BPL. And seeing this golden potty, who would miss this chance to earn the big bucks? Not the service provider for sure!!! In the past, there is only 1, now there are 2 providers. But the price isn't that competitive at all cos it like they out bid each other and pass the cost to the subscriber. So the guys on the street take the pounding.
Ok, so this is the case of supply vs demand. We being the demand and kena bleed by the supplier. Don't think I will subscribe to this ever price hiking channel program in the near future. I shall just stick to my online TV feeds instead:)
